Belt Alignment
Share
Proper belt alignment is critical to the life and efficiency of any belt drive. Any amount of misalignment will cause unnecessary friction between the belt and pulley when the belt enters and exits the pulley. This friction physically wears on the belt and also turns into heat, causing it to harden and crack. The energy wasted is energy that is not being delivered to the desired location and adding extra electricity costs. Belt manufacturers will publish their recommended alignment tolerances, typically 1/16" per foot of span. True Tool's Laser Line Up Tool can help you verify proper alignment.
